Bakeable Playdough

My kids love playdough, the only problem with this, is that they make things with said playdough and then don't want to relinquish there little creations to glob and put it back in the jar. Which I totally understand! So this morning I made this simple Bakeable Playdough Recipe.
2-C. Flour
1-C. Salt
1-C. Cold Water
2-Tble. cooking Oil
Mix everything together.
Cut out some tin foil to make your creations on. Trust me, its easier than scraping it off the counter AFTER its already done. Bake at 300 for 1-hour.

here they are after they were all baked, ready to paint!

Shanna giving her turtle a little love pat :)

Painting!!

Brison painting his turtle red!

Shanna wanted hers blue!(this was before her blue paint got mixed with the green. It turned out blue-ish green!)

The end results! Didn't they do a great job?!

I painted the little blue bird... Sometime's its fun to be a kid!:)

Kite Flying Fun!

Today I got the kids cheap little kites at the store. The wind today really gave those cheap little things a run for there money, let me tell you!! I had to tape both of there kites up just to keep them together! They had so much fun and I had a blast watching my kiddos enjoy themselves! Brison really got the hang of running with it to keep it in the air...

I love the big blue sky in this picture!

Shanna had a little bit of trouble cause she couldn't really run fast enough to keep it in the air...

But she had fun despite that :)

Happy Spring everyone!

Crochet Hat

The crochet bug hit me this week and I wanted to make something. I have wanted a slouch hat for some time but never bought one because I have a rather large head and they never fit me when I tried them on at the store. This week I FINALLY found a pattern online that was easy!!! WOOT WOOT!!
I made It and followed the pattern to a T and the hat fit my daughter!! I guess that's what happens when you deal with small headed people! Sheesh!! LOL

So I tried again and did some modifications to the pattern and it fits!

I love It!

Im working on another In robins egg blue to try and modify It a wee bit more.

Blessings

"Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to move forward the life that God intended for you with grace, strength, courage, and confidence" ~ Og Mandino

"Find a way to be thankful for your troubles, and they can become your blessings"

"Better to lose count while naming your blessings than to lose your blessings to counting your troubles" ~ Maltbie D. Babcock

"When I started counting my blessings, my whole life turned around" ~ Willie Nelson

"God will not permit any troubles to come upon us, unless He has a specific plan by which great blessing can come out of the difficulty". ~ Peter Marshall

"Welcome every morning with a smile.
Look on the new day as another special gift from your Creator,
Another golden opportunity to complete what you were unable to finish yesterday.
Be a self starter.
Let your first hour set the theme of success and positive action that is certain to echo through your entire day.
Today will never happen again.
Don't waste it with a false start of no start at all.
You were not born to fail." ~ Og Mandino

So, NOW you decide to take a nap?

So, yesterday the weather around our neck of the woods was lovely. So lovely In fact that I am convinced that the beautiful spring air in my children's lungs caused them to decide naps were no longer needed when pretty weather outside beckoned to them! So after some time of thinking they MIGHT fall asleep I gave up and told them to commence their playing outside. After Superman was home he headed out to the barn (with superman-in-training in tow:)) to do whatever it is that he does out there, while I fixed supper. Supper was almost ready and I was getting ready to call the guys in when I found my daughter like this...

Sound asleep...on the couch.

So what else am I suppose to do, when supper is ready and she is a mere two hours from bedtime? Let her sleep and Take a picture!( and HOPE she doesn't keep me up too late!)

Sick day

Today my son woke up about 4:30am throwing up. I heard him and envisioned myself spending the next couple of hours cleaning his room up. But no, my grown up little 4-year-old boy walked himself to the bathroom to relieve his sick stomach. OK this may not seem like a big deal, but trust me...IT IS!!! Sorry if this is grossing anybody out...I'm just tellin' It like It is and that's just the way I roll...

I made him a comfy little spot on the couch where he could watch his favorite cartoons and he sweetly told me "thank you and I love you" when I had him all situated with his favorite blanket and pillow. It's those "little" moments with my baby's that I will always cherish!

Now on to my daughter...She has really been a scream to be around today. Let me first explain to you that she is a copy-er, especially of her big brother. Seriously, If he walked off a cliff, she would be one step behind him!
So today, since he was sick than of course she had to be too! She kept telling me "I not weelin goo" and I kept explaining to her that she was fine!(she had already been sick on Sunday)She didn't believe me though...If I made him tea than she had to have some too!

Lastly, when baby girl was napping I found this drawing she had left on the table and I was quite impressed that a 2-year-old drew this...But than I AM her Mother :) Oh, If you where wondering...Its a fish :)

A simple Wish...

“This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds,

laughter to kiss your lips,

sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see,

friendships to brighten your being,

faith so that you can believe,

confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself,

patience to accept the truth, Love to complete your life.”

Paper...

So, my son Is always coming up with new ways to broaden MY horizon's. A couple of days ago he asked me to "make him a boat out of paper" HUH? Where that came from I have NOoooo idea. I do make him a paper airplane occasionally, but a boat? So I (of course!)Googled it and found this lovely little tutorial on the subject...

Click this link, or copy and past into your browser...

I did get stumbled up In a couple of places cause the pictures weren't that clear, but I persevered and here Is Big brother with his boat...
