Bedtime

I don't know what happens at your house at bedtime, but around here, things start to get a little crazy. I really don't know what comes over my kids, near bedtime. They start by climbing the walls, swinging from the ceiling fans. OH, and I can't forget to mention the running around like wild animals shrieking!

Last night they were doing their normal running around like wild hoodlums... UNTIL, I noticed thing's all of a sudden got strangely quite In my daughter's room, so I headed off to investigate. This Is what I found...

This Is my daughter's toddler bed and I usually dont allow them to move furniture like this, but I was feeling nice, so I told them they could do It for a little while before going to bed.

I figured It was innocent enough, rolling cars down a mattress was a pretty cool idea I figured. Plus, after all, It was keeping them from running around like wild children that weren't born in civilization.

However, I should have KNOWN my son would take It to the next level... Hence, when I returned a few moments later, I found this...

So, like any good Mom, I ran and got my camera, snapped a few photo's and then, told them that It was time to "STOP THAT, BEFORE SOMEBODY GETS HURT"!

How can you say "no" to these precious face's? (turns out, It's fairly easy!)

After everything was put back, My daughter goes running Into the kitchen and smack's her head on the kitchen island...

Well, I tried to keep them from getting hurt, I truly tried...
(don't worry, she Is fine!)

MFB 2010 Conference

This past weekend we attended the Young Farmers & Ranchers, Missouri Farm Bureau Conference. This was our Fifth year to attend.
It Is held annually at the Tan-Tara Resort In Osage beach Missouri. Its right on the lake but unfortunately this year we did not have a room with a view. this was our view...

Yup that's a road! HAHA Oh well, no good pictures of the lake. And this year I actually took my camera!

We arrived Friday around 4-ish, got settled In our room and then walked around waiting for supper. For the Friday night meal we had Scalloped Potatoes, Pork and green beans. The Kiddos got chicken fingers and Mack and cheese. After supper the President of MFB spoke.

On Saturday morning breakfast was served at 7:15. Its a buffet style of basically whatever you want. Eggs, Muffins, Bacon, Fruit, Cereal, Sausage and biscuits. After breakfast all the committee members share about their farms and what they all do. Its really neat to hear about all the different family's that Farm and Ranch In Missouri.

After that we head off to our Seminars. You get to pick which Seminars you want to attend In the morning. You get to pick four. Each one Is 45 minutes long. I took Shanna and went to the Seminar about how to make homework fun for your kids. Adam took Brison, and I don't remember which one he went too. After those were over, we met up and both went to the Seminar about Nutrition. After that one was over, we split again to go to different Seminars. We only went to 3 seminars instead of the 4, because the kids were tired of sitting. Lunch was at 12:15, It was buffet again, but this time with bread and lunch meat to make your own sandwiches. After the meal their was another speaker, Karen Sparks. She Is the President Of the Missouri federation of Animal owners. It was very interesting and informative.

Doesn't Brison look thrilled?

After that, there was a children's pedal pull, Brison gave It his best. They had It weighed-down GOOD, cause none of the 4 year-olds could get It very far...

There were three Tractors that they had sitting In the hospitality area, and they were used as a Jungle gym by all the kids.

I took the kiddos swimming In the afternoon. After we got back to the room, the kids promptly fell asleep and since I had gotten a migraine, Adam went to supper alone, while the kids and I slept. Adam came back to the room around 9:30pm and said they had a really good Country Band playing, and since I was feeling better, and the kids were awake at that point, we went downstairs and listened to the band for awhile. They were really good. They played one of my favorite Country songs right now, So that was cool!

Sunday morning we packed up and got the car loaded to go home. They served a brunch at 9:15. They had a video presentation of the weekend and then we headed home!!
We had a good weekend, but I was clicking my ruby slipper's together saying "there's no place like home" by the end of It!!

Brison's highlight of the weekend was the what he referred to as the "roller coaster". No, their Is not a roller coaster at the resort. What my son got so excited about Is the jaw-dropping thrill ride known as the escalator!!

The End.

Sledding Fun!

After this last snow, Hubby got the kiddos each a snow disk to slide down our many hills around here.

Brison loves sledding! Shanna...not so much. She does however, like to sit in the disk...just as long as It's INSIDE!

Brison and I went sledding last night and had alot of fun. But I didn't take any pictures until today.

He went out this morning to sled, and I took pictures through the bedroom window.

Are you ready for the pictures? HERE WE GO! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Our Weekend

Ahhh, the start of another week! I use to dread Monday's. But not anymore! I actually look forward to them now. Its the day I pick up from the weekend and the kids and I can get back to our schedule.

We had a good weekend here. It started snowing on Friday and It snowed all day Sunday and It Is snowing now. We have about 2-3 inches of snow,It looks like. Its really pretty and I am really enjoying It! CLARIFICATION: I enjoy LOOKING at it. NOT getting out In it! :)

On Saturday we had a Valentine play date for the kids at the Church. Kelly Marshall put It all together. She Is really creative and the kids had a blast!

First, they made hand prints in dough, that was then baked.

Then they put on old T-shirts and painted (the paint was made out of shaving cream and glue!)

And Miss Shelby Is quite the painter all ready! Well, with Momma's help anyway!

They played a game of tossing candy In a basket.

Then they attempted to make Valentine Cards. No picture for this one. There was a glue incident... Needless to say, I was busy...

Then to end, we gave them sugar!

While all this was going on Saturday, hubby was out having fun of his own, Coyote Hunting with a friend.

Sunday we had a nice relaxing day at home.

I hope you had a good weekend too!

Twenty-Five cents

This Is getting old...and fast! Though It Is, kinda our fault :-/.

We were at a restaurant a few weeks ago, and you know those little things by the front door that If you put a quarter In, you get whats inside?(whatever they are, they should be BANNED!) Well, this particular one had little Dinosaur's In It...And my kids LOVE dinosaur's. Big brother got an orange one and and little miss got a blue one...and my life has never been the same...

Brother played with his, but quickly moved on to other things...

But, NOT sister...

Every little bit its "Wair my yinadore?". I'm trying to put them down for a nap and It's "Wair my Yinadore"?. And no, she doesn't keep track of it...Because she has somehow gotten It through her little head that's "Mommy's job".

The thing Is about the size of a speck of dust...OK, not quite...but pretty darn CLOSE!

I am sick-to-death, of always looking for the little brute! See, he Is totally laughing at me!?!?

Maybe I'm just not looking at this the right way? Maybe I should be glad the thing that has absorbed my daughters attention for the last few weeks, Is an insignificant twenty-five cent toy... Lord knows I wouldn't have paid more than that for it!

The Case 870

Growing up on a Farm my Dad had a menagerie of tractors. Over time I learned how to drive most of them. But my favorite was this beauty...

The Case 870. *sigh* I loved that tractor. I spent many hours on that tractor... packing silage...Raking hay... Hauling hay in from the fields.... Even though it was one of our bigger tractor's I found it the easiest to drive.

Dad also owned the 1270 Case, It was just a little bigger than the 870 and it had a cab. I loved how the 870 didn't have a cab though. I loved the breeze In my face :)

My husband has been selling and buying tractors lately(more on that later)and that has gotten me to thinking about my favorite tractor I literally grew up driving. So here Is a tribute to My favorite tractor. The Case 870.

I love everything about being farmgirl...Especially all the memories I made, driving around In a Case tractor...on the farm.

Shhhhhhhhhhhh...Its a secret...

I know I probably shouldn't let this little secret out, but at this point I just can't help it! (what with having a blog and all :)) I'm pretty sure I married Superman. I know, I know, It's alot to take in all at once. Just hear me out!

I honestly didn't have a clue when we were dating. Not that their weren't signs, I was just a little naive to them at that point. It wasn't until after we were married that I finally had to face the truth...

I started hearing stories of neighbors with broken down machinery that magically got fixed the same night my husband came home late... Stories of tractors being stuck in the middle of bridges, said tractor being "rescued" the same night my husband disappears after supper... Friends, who's van broke down In town and my husband conveniently has to "run to town" at that exact same moment... It gets exhausting just watching him run around all the time saving everyone!(and he thinks he's being so sly about it!)

Just this evening his father called (something about his truck not working) my Superman, who had barely walked in the door is gone...off to save someone...again!

Yes, I really think I have all the proof I need.

No, he has not come clean and actually admitted It...Not yet anyway.

Oh, and did I mention I was not having the best of days and he brought home supper?

Yup! I think I have ALL the proof I need....
